Hi, I’m McKenna

I’m a freelance intimacy coach and intimacy coordinator-in-training whose work bridges academic scholarship, embodied practice, and deeply personal, individualized support.

I hold a Bachelor of Honors in Human Sexuality and a Master’s degree in Sociology from York University. My academic background grounds my work in critical, intersectional understandings of gender, identity, power, and sexual expression — but more importantly, it shaped how I approach intimacy: with curiosity, compassion, and care.

Since graduating in 2019, I’ve been invited to speak at the University of Toronto’s Sex and Sexuality Symposium and to present virtually for Conestoga College on gender, identity, and the intersections of sexuality. I love translating theory into conversations that feel accessible, affirming, and relevant to real people’s lives.

I’m currently completing my training with Intimacy Coordinators Canada, and have recently completed Foundations 1: Consent and Intimacy in Performance. Since then, I’ve worked as an expert consultant on Ottawood Film productions, supporting creative teams in building consent-forward, trauma-informed environments for intimate storytelling.

At the heart of my work is individualized coaching. I support people in developing consent literacy, strengthening communication skills, exploring identity and desire, navigating boundaries, and cultivating authentic connection. Whether working one-on-one or consulting in creative spaces, I center clarity, collaboration, and respect.

I believe intimacy isn’t something we’re simply supposed to “know”, it’s something we learn, practice, and embody. And I’m here to help create spaces where that learning feels safe, empowering, and expansive.
